Chik Blinds

 BACKGROUND
Chik blinds have been around for generations. The centuries-old craft of Chik blind making, originated in the grand Palaces and majestic forts of northern India. Chik Blinds were originally designed to combat the scorching midday heat. These exquisite blinds are hand crafted in India from natural bamboo and adorned with intricate lattice designs. Chik blinds work well in both traditional and modern settings and can subtley enhance and soften any interior space. When lowered, they create a gentle, diffused light that bathes the room in a soothing ambiance. The meticulous hand stitching and attention to detail showcase the artisanal expertise poured into every blind.

HOW TO USE
Indulge in the artistry of Chik blinds, expertly crafted to transform your windows with a touch of exquisite charm. Chik Blinds are rolled up using a traditional central rope and adorned with a hand-carved wooden pulley. Both the rope and pulley are thoughtfully dyed to match the colour of the stitching, ensuring a seamless aesthetic. For blinds wider than 1 meter, two pulleys and ropes are provided; allowing for smooth operation and effortless style.

DESIGN DETAILS
The blinds come with string ties to affix to eyelets (1.5cm recommended) or hooks (not included). The string ties are then fastened through the metal hooks or eyelets that can be easily screwed into the top of the window frame. For those seeking a more discreet touch, the top binding of the blinds can be securely attached to a wooden baton using Velcro (wooden baton not included). The rope can be secured by wrapping round a brass cleat attached to the wall or window frame (not included).

HOW TO ORDER
To embark on the journey of obtaining your bespoke Chik blinds, simply follow these steps:
  1. Email studio@chloejonasoninteriors.com with your name, address & specific measurements.
  2.  Please specify whether you prefer the blind to sit outside the window frame or within a window recess.

HOW TO MEASURE
Outside the Window Recess: If you prefer the blind to sit outside the window frame, kindly provide us with the window size. We will then allow for an additional 5 cms (2 inches) on both sides, as well as at the top and bottom. This ensures that the blind has the necessary "drop" and creates a balanced appearance. Consequently, the final blind dimensions will have an extra 10 cms (4 inches) added to both the length and width.

Within the Window Recess: If you desire the blind to sit within a window recess, please provide us with the exact recess measurement. To ensure smooth operation and proper fit, we will reduce the blind size by approximately 2 cms (¾ inch) overall in both length and width. This adjustment allows the blind to roll up and down effortlessly and ensures a correct fit when lowered.
